Open training session

Was at the training session today and noticed de Gois spent the whole time at hooker with the 1st grade squad. Seffa was mostly with the wenty team and Morgan didn't seem to train at all

  • Seffa at Wenty???? So it aint so :-(.

  • Open training sessions don't give too much away. Can you describe what they did during the session?
  • Who trained at right centre?
  • Hi Sixties I attended today as well and believe the session was the back end of what would be their normal session. It was only from 10.30am to 11.30am. DeGois and Nelson seemed to interchange during the ball work session but DeGois did spend a lot of time at 9.

As Justin stated Morgan didn't train at all with Vai training at right Centre. I did hear Morgan say he would be OK for Monday's game. Paulo definitely didn't see much time with the main team.

Tepai also didn't train with the main group and spent time running with Robinson, Edwards and Eric Newbigging.
    • Sounds like IDG is ready. Not unusual for players with niggles to be excused from training altogether. I'm not sure how to read Tepai running with the rehab group. If his injury meant it was best to avoid contact, maybe he was running to maintain fitness.
  • After watching the way the team gel'd well together on Sat night, if i was BA I would give IDG another week off and let the same team play against the Tigers, then there is the Bye which will give IDG another 3 weeks to recover and get his fitness back. I think it is a risk to bring him back and change the mechanics of a winning team. History shows it is the teams that have the least disruption, builds momentum and confidence in each other.

    • Nelson was killing it the other night. I'm a little concerned at the thought of bringing IDG back early, if he's not 100%. I reckon we should use Nelson until Peats is ready to come back - rest IDG in case we Peats goes out again later.

    • Probably more of a case where if the doctor says he is fit, then he must play due to salary cap. There may not be a choice.
  • x2
