One saving grace..

On the field Parramatta's attack seems to be a rabble and we are very one dimensional in my opinion, we seem to just lack that spark across the park.

Having said all that, and getting away from the putrid style of football we are playing I would like to mention Kieran Foran.

I know this is going over old ground, as he hasn't been with us for a few years (as fleeting as it was). but isn't he a shell of his former self.

I only mention this because had everything gone to plan, he would have still been here as he signed a 4 year contract all those years ago.

Not only has he had his mental demons, but his body is busted.

He has very little impact on a game the way he used to and seems no only uninvolved but disinterested.

I can't see him (as I couldn't when he made the move) seeing out his contract at the Dogs.

I can't say I'm unhappy that he's no longer with us given the money he was on, and whilst we are playing like busted's I think had he of stayed, we'd have had a very similar salary cap situation as Manly with such a high percentage of the cap invested in one player.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kieran retired in the next few years.

A heartache that we went through at the time which I believe has turned out best for Parra.

As for us, I'm bereft of ideas, Norman doesn't seem to be putting in, and Moses is all effort, but isn't playing smart at all. Semi gone has had a bigger impact than most realise.

Kane Evans isn't playing up to potential and Jarryd (whilst injured) isn't half the player he was.

I believe we need a big bopper (Paulo may fit the bill), and another edge forward,

Beau Scott and Daniel Alvaro probably wouldn't make any other first grade starting team anywhere else in the comp, and I would sack Vave, apparently he came back to training after having treated the off season like an eating completion, and as a professional footballer that is treating the club and fans with contempt.

As for Brad Arthur, I refuse to believe that you can coach one year, than not the next.

There are definitely problems in there somewhere, not sure whether its him, the players or what, but I guess time (which we don't have) will tell.

I can't not follow them, but this Eels team does my head in..

  • Its our kicking game with the up and under that go nowhere except straight into the hands of opposition fullback. Also our refusal to take early penalty shots at goal, unlike the other 15 sides./

  • Our recruitment hasnt been any better since the foran era

2018: Evans, hayne and williams all did not feature last night and wont for an extended period

2017: matagi has been woefully ineffective taking the ball up, hoffman and davis are in reserve grade atm, george jennings while being a metre eater cannot defend and moses hasnt been able to finish half an opportunity without the help of semi

2016: Gordon only lasted a year, hasson, cornish, tanginoa, tuha and moss did not play first grade, scott has been woeful for about a year and a half now and only has 4 months of footy left in him.

The only decent signings we have made in the last 3 years have been gutherson, brown and michael jennings and michael jennings himself takes up 800k as centre and doesnt have much more football in him
