Don’t let the dogs out

Dogs suprised us last two games we played. Lots of chatter about our prospects for the season and we are expected to win this. If we are looking ahead and taking this game forgranted any way we will get ambushed.

We need to revenge last year at Bankwest and make sure everyone knows this is our fortress.

Go Eels - smash the Dogs one play at a time

BTW Waqa looks on track

  • It's pretty sad a little (big) part of us parra fans expects failure. As much as we try to tell ourselves "we got this", the truth is we are really just straight up expecting the team to disappoint us. I just cant for the life of me understand why some experts have us in their top 4. History repeats itself friends. We cant play with expectation.

I can see the posts now -

"Why did we get rid of mau? Matterson sucks."

"Why did we play Blake when he clearly wasnt 100%?"

"Is dylan brown overrated?" And the first response, "He's only 19, give it time."

"Why does Lane look a bit overweight and unfit this year." And somewhere in this post will be a response targetted towards brad arthur suggesting his coaching always makes players go backwards with their careers (or similar).

"We need to drop some of these powderpuff forwards." And a reply somewhere in the post will suggest we pick some youth i.e. kaufusi, stone, and utoikamanu, all the while making no sense since one of them got injured in reserve grade and/or the team also lost miserably.

And if by same reason salmon or will smith play, oh boy expect some critical posts regardless if the loss was their fault or not.

Etc etc etc. Same old.. failure. Thanks alot parramatta.

    • If we don't focus they will fockus

not much difference between top of the table and bottom, lose a little intensity and lose

      • true Wile!

    • No more excuses Nitram...not me anyway.

best home ground and fan base

Well balanced halves combo, heads right and well  mentored finally!

club stopped with ridiculous tight arse ways and gave coach what he needed

Enough distance between toddies salary cap news to stop the nation

well balanced team and not all responsibility and blame falls on one superstars shoulders

More than one real SOO prospect  within our ranks

      Finally Coach has clear air!

      front office settled

....nup no excuses for failure this year.

and absolutely no excuses for atrocious, embarrassing, weak defensive scoreline blowouts and lack of accountability for poor performances. I would be really disappointed if players found to be not giving 100% for the full 80 aren’t held accountable and dropped for poor performance. Eg  No more favourites  given repeated chances to stuff up week after week eg Takka and his dopey pushed passes that resulted in chance after chance for weeks! Enough is enough.

      • I agree with everything you've just said but we all know there will be should we start badly or have another bad year.

      • Hi Macy, welcome to the new year/season, likewise to all eels supporters.

While I believe & hope we win against against the pups, and win well, I expect quite a hard game as per usual with the eels & pups have been for some time now.  Their late season surge towards the finals last year along with some good signings for this year, will make them a harder side & not to be taken lightly.

They have a pretty fair goal kicker in Holland who is also a pretty strong centre as well. We have a pretty good kicker as well, and maybe that's where the game will be decided.  Take every shot at goal and not just as conversions, points on the board are vital as with the for & against.

        • Hi Col, same to you and all. Can’t wait got the excitements for it to start!

          yeah absolutely agree.

every game should be approached in the same attitude ...it’s the only way to cement mental toughness and hold us in good stead for the most challenging of sides.

we showed last year that we still have some ‘blow out’ scores in us but this has to be snuffed right out and if it happens heads should roll early to set the benchmark that it will not be tolerated.

Haha, yeah. Sanders cost us 12-18 points. But he's still young, got loads of potential, time to work on his game and between the ears.
He seems to get frazzled when pressured. Like he's rushed for time, rather than slowing down time…"
