In recent weeks/ months our club has been through hell. As a result there have been many blogs & opinions on how best we go forward and rebuild our shattered club. Well. I believe I have the answer. I have floated this many times in the past with only Luke warm agreement but we are now desperate.
Cameron Smith is the solution to almost all of our team building dilemmas. He may be approaching the twilight of his career but he is the role model and example setter our playing group need.
We need a leader. He is no only a leader, he is the leader.
We need a role model for our young guys. Who better than Cameron Smith.
We need a goal kicker. One of the best.
We need to be treated fairly by the ref's. he dominates them every game and they don't ever realize it is happening.
Forget Hayne, Been there, done that, no result. He is a "has been" who will never be as interested in the team as he is in himself. I group him with Robbie Farah as a good player I'd prefer to see in another team.
Forget Foran,. His baggage could not fit in the back of a 20t tip truck. Pay him out and piss him off.Corey Norman out plays him every week anyway. He has given us zero in 12 weeks and even if we triple that in the future its still going to be zero
I say we put our prejudices aside, forget about Hayne get rid of Foran & Kaysa, hope Morgan goes long term at the Storm and with the freed up cash do whatever it takes to get this guy. He may be contracted to the Storm but we all know that means nothing nowadays.
If we take our current roster aside from those already mentioned and add Cameron Smith success will surely follow. But we must act fast.
