On Reed Mahoney leaving Parramatta

Parramatta let Reed Mahoney leave even though he seemed to want to stay and was an important player in our spine with great career potential.

What was the process for this decision? In my opinion it was one of the worst trades in the NRL in the past few years.

He's made a few mistakes today so some of you will reply with recency bias but it was a terribly poor sale.

  • He wanted 650k and he wasn't worth that. He's been shit all year , not just this game.  We have Hands on probably less than 250k  doing the exact same job.

    The end

    • Hands is more likely on $130-150k, it's a steal. Today's performance should make the hodgson fans question themselves.

      • Hands was outstanding his defence is excellent. I think he has missed one tackle all year! For a hooker that's damn near unheard of. Mahoney for example is averaging I think 8 or 9 misses a match. Hodgson is also high.

I wonder how bad Hodgsons cold was or did Arthur want to see how Hands went over 80 against a low side?

      • Hodgson was always going to be a big waste of money, Hands has restored my confidence in this season

        • Disagree with wasted money. He's going to play some footy and mentor a kid. He will come good at some stage. Class doesn't disappear all of a sudden.

          • Maybe JH was rested for the next few wks? He had some bad injuries over the last two yrs; and maybe BA wants to ensure he is managed ok? Or maybe it's all speculation

  • Dont whinge now Grinder - His all yours at the Dogs...

Ill settle for Hands at the moment. He has outplayed the Muppet today so far.

    • I don't support the Dogs @Blue Eel. - calling me a Dog's supporter is a real low blow.  I've probably been an Eels fan longer than you've been alive by the sound of it (ie your post).

I'm questioning our trading strategy because it is terrible and we deserve better (ie a chance to win the competition).

  • Dude get your facts straight. We wanted him to stay. He was determined to leave. Good riddance to anyone who doesn't want to be at the club.

    • To be fair Mutt, i think we all agree our first offer to him was insulting.
