No errors and pretty fair stats, too. His average metres gained were only behind Mannahs and I thought he really hit the ball up with gusto as well as being pretty busy in D. He may not be a superstar but he always busts a gut and gets the job done.

I heard a rumour that this was true 1Eyed, but thought my friend was poking fun at me.
The reality is is that Oakey has been consistent in every game he has played this year too. I think he would still be in the side too had Horo not fired up as he has.
I hope he continues to get more game time. He is a good, solid player who gives his all each time he plays. What more can we ask for? :-)
I was really impressed with Brendon Oake in the trial game at Gosford. He was the only forward who consistently threatened to break the line. He scored a try due to his determination on a night where points for the Eels were hard to come by.
From what I have seen he seems to have potential. He is not the all conquering Sam Thaiday type running back rower that we want everybody to be, but he is definitely a young bloke on the way up. The big question is whether we will see the best of him or whether he will be squeezed out to another club to find success against us rather than with us.
On the Horo front, have you noticed how often Morts finds him in attack? I wonder if they have a bit of a history playing together.
Oake is definitely a player on the rise, if he turns out to be half the player Sam Thaiday is now , that would still be a great achievement!
I also agree with Camo73 about the roosters trial game at gosford, he was best on field for us that day.
