Injured.
A lot of our big guns returning.
Would start Twal at prop over Tui, though.
Forty was saying that a lot of them are going to be returning next week against Newcastle, that includes FJ Muala, and TTS and I think that might mean we drop off Raeli and possible Twal but I would rather see Tui drop off.
Personally I don't see him making first grade unless he adds another 10-15kg to his weight. His hit-ups aren't fast enough to break the line at his current weight and to truly bend the line in first grade he'll need to play at around 115-120kg with his height. He's recently add a bit of an offload to his game but it isn't anything spectacular. I think with our current prop depth and the fact that imo TTS, Raeli, Muna, Muala, and Twal have all out-played him this year and I'd say Kaufusi in line line with him.
The fact that he's also 20 and hasn't produced an outstanding game in the 20's is also a bit of a concern seeing as Twal has come in as a 17/18 year old and has shown that he has a higher potential than Tui. If he'd been playing League since he was young and had been in an elite training program from the age that his peers have been in since they were 15 then he'd probably be far ahead of them given his height.
Hope Twal doesn't drop off. The kid can play.
He'll probably start every game next year in NYC, such is his talent.
I can't see him dropping off. He's been very consistent so far this season. He's come as a bit of a shock inclusion for the NYC, he was initially a player that was named as training with the NYC squad earlier on in the season and he's sort of just come out of nowhere. With most of our NYC forward pack staying on next year I think it will be difficult for some of the younger ones coming through to crack into the starting 17. The only ones I can think of at the moment that will be too old from our forward pack next year are: FJ Muala, Tui Kamicamica, and Eric Newbigging whilst the rest of the squad will be staying on.
It's our backline that I'm a bit concerned about in regards to experience with: Goodall, Li, Folau, Lavaka, and Matto being too old and if you take Holbrook's word ZDC will also be playing NSW cup next year so we will be seeing some new faces in the backs but all will be very talented: French, Oloapu, Fomai, Vidal, and possibly may see Nifo Sevi line-up in the halves.
Means that a lot of our forward pack is in good stead for next year.
Hopefully Mauala & Newbigging stay on as Wenty players at least. Both are quality yet have room to grow and the next step would be a good learning curve bor both.
French would definitely be ready for NYC, as would Oloapu. Can't say I've seen a great deal of Fomai or Vidal but given they're highly rated, I would presume they're ready.
Changing of the guard next year - but we'll hopefully be in a good place & give the young guns coming in a foundation to build upon.
