NSW Cup: Rd.14 vs Canterbury Bulldogs

A few changes for Wenty with Luke Kelly and Kaysa Pritchard dropping out and Daniel Alvaro and Beau Henry I believe taking their places for the Magpies.

Kickoff is at 7PM.

  • Wow!! ....
I also believe Steven Hales is now the Wenty coach and Brett Cook has taken over the NYC side
  • Alvaro #scapegoat he would be short of match fitness after the last 2 weeks
  • Dogs to kick off to get the game under way.

Alvaro takes the first run of the game. Lasalo has a solid carry to follow. WEnty drive the ball over halfway before Matterson turns the ball inside to Aloiai who has a good dart.

Wenty complete their set with a shallow kick into the red zone and nail the fullback near his goal line.

    Good start to proceedings.

  • Not many metres available for the Dogs in their first set. Forced to hoof the ball downfield where Quinlan is happy to clean it up.

Wenty roll the ball into the Dog's half before an excellent kick from Ryan Matterson earns a scrum for Wenty as they hammer Phillips into touch! Big play early on.

Some busy work down the left from Aloiai and Goodall sets up space back on the right but the big shift is butchered by Quinlan who throws an awful pass the intended recipient Butler-Fleming and the ball rolls behind him and into touch.

  • Having issues with the site on my laptop. Definitely on my end. Sorry guys.
  • Well it looks like Dud Kelly will be in FG after all & Sandow is either temporally being stood down or gonski. At least Alvaro is getting some much needed game time after a squandered 2 weeks.

  • Half Time

    Wenty 6 - Canterbury 0

Moses Manu set up the sole try for Adam Quinlan.
  • 20 Minutes gone in the second half

    Wenty 16 - Bulldogs nil
  • Try Bulldogs - Tyrone Phillip. Conversion missed. Wenty 16 - Bulldogs 4. #VBNSWCup 10 mins left in the 2nd half.
  • Cody Nelson kicked a sideline goal.

"Agreed. The pushed passes did my head in.
In this instance, I just can't see how this contact has been given a grade 2.

"Yeah 100%
I meant more of 'if we didnt push from the start' type of thing. Yeah Lomax would have played against us, but maybe some of the suspect calls wouldnt have happened.
All speculation and hindsight really. Im sure there would have been…"
