Only Jennings and Moeroa in possible contention. The Loz and Dog Show: Round 7 BluesNSW coach Laurie Daley has a 52-man list that he must cull by 35 players before Origin I on May 31DEAN RITCHIE, The Daily TelegraphApril 12, 2017 8:00pmSubscriber onlyGET the red pen out, Lozza.NSW coach Laurie Daley has an incredible 52-man list he will somehow have to cull by 35 players over the next five NRL games. The Daily Telegraph has a list of every candidate in line for Blues selection — and it clearly demonstrates NSW’s unparalleled depth.Almost every position is well-covered as players begin a mad scramble for a selection date which is just 39 days ahead, and State of Origin I at Suncorp Stadium on May 31.The Panthers and Raiders have seven representatives on the list, Bulldogs (5), Sharks (5), Dragons (5), Roosters (5), Sea Eagles (4), Rabbitohs (3), Titans (3), Storm (2), Eels (2), Tigers (2), Broncos (1), Cowboys (1) with no players coming from the Knights nor Warriors.Daley has the difficult assignment of not only cutting the squad right back but also trying to find the right mix and winning chemistry.“We certainly have a lot more depth than what we have in the past,” Daley told The Daily Telegraph. “We’re not skinny in too many areas. We go down deep in all positions.Robbie Farah is hoping for another shot in a Blues jersey. (Photo by Mark Kolbe/Getty Images)“There are a lot more experienced players there, guys who have played Origin, for Australia or have played in that 40 to 100 first grade games category. It’s great to have so many players in contention in all positions. Everyone is pushing one another.LOZ’S 52-MAN LIST*FULLBACKS (6)James Tedesco (Wests Tigers), Tom Trbojevic (Manly), Jack Wighton (Canberra), Matt Moylan (Penrith), Lachlan Coote (Cowboys), Josh Dugan (Dragons)WINGS (4)Brett Morris (Canterbury), Daniel Tupou (Roosters), Akuila Uate (Manly), Blake Ferguson (Roosters)CENTRES (9)Jarryd Hayne (Gold Coast), Josh Morris (Canterbury), James Roberts (Brisbane), Dylan Walker (Manly), Jarrod Croker (Canberra), Joey Leilua (Canberra), Tyrone Peachey (Penrith), Jack Bird (Cronulla), Michael Jennings (Parramatta)HALVES (7)Adam Reynolds (Souths), Mitchell Pearce (Roosters), Josh Reynolds (Canterbury), Luke Keary (Roosters), Blake Austin (Canberra), James Maloney (Cronulla), Aidan Sezer (Canberra)BACKROWERS (11)Jake Trbojevic (Manly), Jack de Belin (Dragons), Trent Merrin (Penrith), Tepai Moeroa (Parramatta), Wade Graham (Cronulla), Josh Jackson (Canterbury), Boyd Cordner (Roosters), Tyson Frizell (Dragons), David Klemmer (Canterbury), Bryce Cartwright (Penrith), Dale Finucane (Storm)PROPS (10)Junior Paulo (Canberra), James Tamou (Penrith), Andrew Fifita (Cronulla), Aaron Woods (Wests Tigers), Matt Prior (Cronulla), Paul Vaughan (Dragons), Shannon Boyd (Canberra), Jordan McLean (Storm), Ryan James (Gold Coast), Reagan Campbell-Gillard (Penrith)HOOKERS (5)Robbie Farah (Souths), Damien Cook (Souths), Nathan Peats (Gold Coast), Cameron McInnes (Dragons), Peter Wallace (Penrith)* Players may be considered for other positions.“There will be some players that will miss out, they will be disappointed. That’s what we want.“We want pressure on the incumbents. Give us a reason to pick them. We want to make sure we get the team right. Regardless of who we pick, they are all proud New South Welshmen and they will go out there and do a job for us.”Class players Cody Walker, Nathan Cleary, Bevan French and Latrell Mitchell couldn’t be included. Josh Mansour won’t be available for game one through injury.Veteran Robbie Farah is back again for another crack in a hooking position looking a little light-on. Farah is coming off the bench for Souths but knows he has never let NSW down.“I think I have been going OK, definitely not at my best. At the same time, Laurie knows me as a player and anytime he has shown faith in me, I have gone out there to make sure I don’t let him down. I’d like to think I have never done that,” Farah said."He has picked me before coming off injuries where I have only played ... I think it was last year where I get concussed pretty bad and didn’t play a game for three weeks and he picked me game one.“The year before I was coming off a dislocated elbow and only played one game going into Origin I. In terms of minutes or match fitness, I don’t think any of those things matter when it comes to Origin. When you’re out there, you just do what needs to be done. You know you can’t let anyone down.”Souths halfback Adam Reynolds said he was ready for another shot at Origin, despite missing game three last year when NSW won.“The hunger is always there, mate,’’ Reynolds said. “I loved my time there last year and would love another opportunity.“In saying that, I have to play consistent first at Souths. I will leave it up to the selectors. It’s the best arena to be in for rugby league. You notice a difference when you step into that arena. No doubt if I got the opportunity again, I would play it different to last time.”

For me Aaron Woods doesn't make the team, he doesn't run hard enough for me these 4 would eat him IMO. There is enough strike power there to score tries and deffs enough go forward power to go forward.
    • Not a bad side, i would prefer Bird over Moylan on the bench.

    • I was 50-50 over Moylan and Birdy, I just personally think Moylan is more "class" over Birdy. Both very very capable of filling that utility spot.
  • I actually would have thought Nathan Brown would have made the possibles list after his good start to the year. He is an origin type player IMO
  • And he will still get it wrong!
    • Xmas wish.
  • First one to cull is Laurie Daley.

  • No wonder we've got so much room in the salary cap, no rep players!! Apart from ma'u... even Norman is probably behind the milf and dce to replace JT in the halves for qld
    • And if reports are correct we are paying 850k for another player not even on a short (long) list of potential origin halves when it has been by far our weakest position in Origin.
