There may be some upset people in Brisbane. The Warriors v Storm at Dolphins Stadium Feb 20 has been billed as a full on affair with ticket sales reflecting at $30 an adult for most seats, which is plenty for a trial game. I think a lot of paying customers will be upset when they learn that the stars they were hoping to see wont be on the field (Munster, RTS, Grant, B.Smith etc) and that its basically a reserve team game.
I hope its still a good game to watch.
Dolphins Stadium is being taken over by one of the biggest money gouging grubs in QueeRZland mate - it is to be renamed Moreton Daily Stadium in his "honour"
No more affordable prices offered, and the dumb Rednecks will pay and pay.
A pie and coke is going to set you back around $12, more if you get sauce.
Styrofoam cup of instant coffee $6.
I was going to get tickets for the two games, but not at those prices. Normally $10 to watch the Dolphins.
Any trial matches being televised Free to Air?
Yep, I normally catch at least a dozen Dolphins games a year. Has always been good value. If prices go up I guess they need to pay for the new grand stand. Its a shame that the stars of the teams in the trial wont be there for their fans. As an Eels fan it doesn't bother me to much, but I'm sure some would like to the opportunity to get a signature or two, or at least see them in action.
It was majority Council money brissy. $3.5 million for original stadium build, then a further $2 million for upgrade, and council is paying for something else again now for another $1.5 million.
Goverment did throw in a bit of money at the beginning, but nothing to compare with council contributions.
All this free money for a corporation making $millions themselves.
Redcliffe Rednecks lol.
I actually lived on the Redcliffe Peninsula for a number of years before it became a money making mega. It was great before that happened.
LOL - indeed my son.
Yeah - I was going just to see some live action for a change.
I really hope we unearth 3 or 4 future superstars as our teams very vanilla again this year . Another year of winning more than we lose , winning too many to look like a shit team but too shit to be classed as a winning team .
we have the grunt and flair of a Hyundai , it'll get you where you wanna go , but ain't nobody admiring your ride .
