NRL please answer this

There are 34 current SOO players and 16 teams

That is 2.125 per team

Parramatta have 2, which is less than average

Our big three - Foran, Jennings and Scott, is not as big as many other teams

Cowboys, Dogs, Roosters all managed to stop raids on their big name players

e.g Cowboys managed to over bid a cashed up Raiders raid on Tamou

We were unable to come up with a TPA to keep our best prop, which we developed and was on good terms.

Fact is that when it comes to TPAs Parramatta has been playing at a disadvantage to most other NRL teams. Not the converse that is in the papers

We are playing well due to strategic recruitment - players whose strengths was our weakness

And great coaching

TPAs are not a factor

They may have been administered inappropriately but should have been valid, modest TPAs

  • The fact that Cowboys chairman Lancini can sell his players houses from his companies at below market value and yet we are getting done for partly trying to entice sponsors to jump on board is absolutely ridiculous. Rules for some rules for others. Clubs deal with TPAs at an arms length my arse
  • SOO/Reps players

    Broncos:

    Thaiday

    Parker

    Boyd

    McGuire

    Gillett

    Glenn

    Blair

    Hunt

Not top mention players bordering on Rep

    Milford

    Roberts

    McCullough

Not bad if you can fit them all within your cap and its little wonder they are premiership favourites.

  • SOO/Reps players

    Cowboys:

    Scott

    Tamou

    Taumalolo

    Morgan

    Past Rep

    Hannant

Not top mention players bordering on Rep

    Coote

    Granville

Not bad if you can fit them all within your cap and its little wonder they are premiers.

  • Thanks TBUR
Good to see the big picture
  • SOO/Reps players

    Parra:

    Foran

    Scott

    Jennings

    Ex Rep Players:

    Watmough

    Flash

    Mannah

Not top mention players bordering on Rep

    Semi

    Peats

    Norman

Not too bad, but not a cap advantaged

    • I don't think Mannah and Gordon are a consideration as anything more than solid 1st graders despite there 1 SOO appearance each and Rads isn't on a big contract as of yet anyways. This leaves us with the 3 stars we bought this year Foran Jenko Scott and throw in Norman. Especially since Hayne left it is hardly the equal of the Storm or Bulldogs teams. Watmough's salary shouldn't even count towards this years cap as he sustained a career ending injury so does this not qualify for cap dispensation?

  • Sorry, You are right I thought I put him first but must of f%& it up.

    They look even better now.

  • Roosters Storm Warriors Souths would all be well above us as well
  • I was just trying to be fair and added ex reps because even though they may be past it they are usually on decent coin.

The whole blog is subjective but it was more comparing teams and while we are being questioned by other clubs, the Broncos and Cowboys go on their merry way.

Nothing concrete here, it's just an interesting comparison for some of us.
  • Agree, but all it takes is one person with some inside info and a chip on their shoulder.

Remember Storm had the same thing as we do now.
