NRL on Channel 10 and 5 nights a week

Whilst I am all for more games being shown live on free to air TV, I don't see having league shown 5 nights a week is an improvement.I'm not sure if this will mean better spaces turn around time between games, or if it will do the opposite and create occasions with even shorter turn around times.Will the Broncos still get all Friday night games (most likely)? Will certain teams get all the good time slots? Who will get the worst ones? We'll see how this shakes out. It could just be a tactic to put the frighteners through Nine.... and i would be surprised if as roy suggests, netflix or similar would be allowed to lock up exclusive rights and lock out fta networks any time soon.....

  Yes more than likely. However Foxtel now owns a 15% share of Ch10, so together they may try to remove 9 from the equation

  Problem for 10 atm is that it's bleeding money. 15% gets News Corp man on the 10 board though. News Corp sinking huge money into 10 at a time when fta revenues are falling generally may not make sense.... although a longer play of waiting to get a controlling stake at cheaper price could deliver rupert the fta licence he always wanted.....

Of course it doesn't, as it is all hypothetical because the deal has not actually been done yet.

You are correct about the Thursday games, but currently this is not throughout the whole season.

Personally, I would like to see as many games played on the same day as possible with the matches being shown concurrently on siffeeeent channels. Replays can be shown on a different day or channel as well as online.

I think Games should be played Friday night Saturday, Saturday Night Sunday only that's it no Monday nights games or and any other nights

Pure speculation as this point. There are rumours that the NRL will control the draw and decide whoo plays on what days and Thurs night footy all season long which is a surprise. Hopefully we know by the end of the season.

I don't like what the future may hold, of having to spread my viewing over 3 platforms. But that's just the old timer in me coming out!

  I see the digital platform (from TV stations) being used for replays only, in the same way we have catchup tv now.
