NRL not as Screwed as IRB

I know many of us think that the NRL is a basket case but the true basket case of world sport is the International Rugby Board which continualy contradicts it's own laws. 1 of them is that a referee cannot be involved in a match where the 2 countries involved are related to the referee or the result of the match can affect the referee's country of origin, for example if Australia Vs Samoa and the ref was Welsh, if Samoa was to win and Wales would be knocked out then the referee couldn't be involved in the match as the result affects his country. The IRB disregarded their own rule and this happened during the World Cup. Also, the IRB is tough on sponsorshipand when a Samoan player wore an unapproved mouth guard Samoa was fined $10,000. However, when English trainers changed the ball for a conversion attempt England was told to deal with it internally when they should've been deducted their points for that match. Also, the IRB doesn't allow any sponsorships of teams in the World Cup which is why Australia doesn't have QANTAS on their jerseys. The IRB has also been accused of telling referees to referee in favour of the A Grade teams which was actually evident in some games as calls were made which defied belief. Before we heap more shit on the NRL just be thankful we aren't controlled by the IRB.
