NRL Nines day 1

2 games and 2 great wins by the blue and golds, however old habits came back in the second half against Newcastle
1-Faraimo: Not so good tbh, flat in attack and suspect in defence but he played out of position at fullback in one game
2-Radradra: Great try against Newcastle, Eric Grothe like, great under the high ball, he was born for 7's and 9's formats in football, but the dropkick for goal against Newcastle?, what bright spark let him take that
3-Folau: Yes its only nines, and there 4 players missing on that field meaning more room and pacey back will look better than they actually are, But this kid is talented, he has grown from U20's and is the centre we've need for a while, so different from Tonga, Morgan and even Hopoate.
4-Takairangi: Hasn't done much tbh, but has thrown a few decent offloads and look forward to seeing him RD1, where him at centre will be shown more
5-Robinson: Looks like a solid, safe winger, seems so casual while playing, and is good with his feet near the line
6-Norman: He played well in Nines last year aswell and look how he played in the regular season, so not getting over excited but credit where credits due he looks great, confident in his running and moving the ball well with his hands
7-Sandow: His kicking is what will win us the Nines (if were gonna win it), his running is decent but he looks busy moving the play around always looking for support, i wish arthur would stop playing him at fullback though, it is not rocket science for this guy to work out its not a good idea, especially in defence
8-Junior: This is guy is what you call a Prop, threw great offloads and looked hard to bring down in attack and strong in defence
9-Pritchard: His tackling around the legs is exceptional, however his passing from dummy-half was suspect once or twice, but looked ok and wouldnt mind him being our no.14
10-Terepo: Didnt really do that much, played a normal Prop role
11-Ma'u: One of the dissapointments, i know its Nines but you wouldve thought you wouldve seen like RD1 2014, where he was breaking tackles and making breaks by angle running, he looks like a predictable Second-Rower
12-Moeroa: This is the next superstar in the NRL, looked dangerous everytime he ran the ball and won the game against Newcastle, even more impressive was him making that break by receiving the ball standind still in the line, not on the burst, imagine if he recieved it on the burst wouldve ran to Wellington and back
13-Joseph Paulo: Useless and stifles play, no idea why they kept him
14-Gower looked good in defence in game 1, but didnt see much to judge
15-Edwards: The reason why we shouldnt of kept Edwards, yes his passes werent that great but he can throw them, and runs ball with fury
16-Lavaka: Didnt see much too judge but good try he scored against Manly, but thats it for now
17-Bludger bludger (Pauli pauli): Dont know why he's there, did nothing at all, hes twice the height and 10kg bigger than Moeroa and its night and day between those 2. its shame as he has the build to be a superstar
18-Kelly: Credit where credits due, he looked good, normal hooker role, solid in defence and guided around ok

so were in the semis and hopefully we can knock off Mary McGregors gang of gaylords tomorrow morning and bring a new trophy into parramatta since 2005 minor premiership

  • Don't forget, dude, Ma' u's back from a nasty broken arm last year so yeah he would be abit slow...

    • im not saying he was terrible just he dominated the nines last year, I understand but if this was round 1 and he played like that I would say he was decent but just no for nines

  • Wow you must watch the through negative eye's. Agree with pauli but everyone has done the job asked of them I thought taki had a solid 1st game if he is injured that will be a big blow
  • I have said that players suit normal game than Nines, but I am enjoying some footy for now

  • Good wins. Finals time.
    • That's the main thing slip

  • This is glorified touch footy, give yourself an uppercut.
This game is no reflection of form for the main competition
    • im reporting on there performances on the nines not the actual competition, some suit nines some don't and there are some who don't, and I never said that great form in nines leads to rd1 form, like I said Norman played well in nines last year and wasn't that good in the reagular season, so no need for unnecessary uppercuts

  • Encouraging to see Corey Norman with no strapping on his knee!
  • It would appear Puali x2 is similar to last year. Brilliant for short spurts but no ticker.
