NRL needs to act tough

This whole circus will continue to operate until the political infighting is stopped. The NRL needs to stamp it's authority and demand a independent CEO be put in place. This person will have no allegiances and will have a fresh business approach. The new CEO at thr sharks lyall Gorman is a perfect example. The club can't continue to put monkeys in charge of the ship. If we lose Foran to the incompetence of the board I will send my jerseys and memoribilla in a express post mailed attention Mr Steve sharp.

  • "Take over" is too strong. But "get involved" would be quite sensible. I try to stay out of the politics discussions, but I think it is getting increasingly obvious that the club needs some independent competence in its management.
    • I've been banging the drum of independent directors for years - you don't get well-balanced boards from directors. I wouldn't disagree with a scenario where the club gets a tick of approval from the NRL to ensure that the independent directors aren't just patsy's but I don't what NRL stooges on our board.

    • PHIL I don't want stooges on our board either but our position is becoming increasing difficult to defend.

If we lose Foran I fear the worst for the club the team and about 10,000 members. No independent directors are going to repair that in a hurry.
  • I want NRL Commission stooges. I want competent, qualified men and women who know how to run a company, know how to project manage, know how to hire staff who have the required skills to execute their tasks efficiently and effectively. We don't have these skills at the moment, would definitely not have it with the bunch of crooks the current board turfed-out, and there will not be change unless it is imposed.

The NRL should thank Sharp and co. for doing their best and replace them with a group of well-qualified management, business and industry representatives with Eels advisors (Michael Cronin and Peter Sterling please). Hell, give Phil Gould $1mil to come over and transform us.

With proper management, the Parramatta Eels would be one of the biggest clubs in Australia. Easily. It is utterly criminal what our amateurish administrators are doing to this club and its long suffering fans. I have had enough. SOS NRL.
