NRL may expand salary cap by $600K immediately under new commission

This could really help our retention of players, 2011 and onwards.Both the establishment of an Independant ruling body & the next TV deal is hugely important to the survival of NRL clubs. If the Cap keeps getting pushed up without clubs being able to sustain the increase.... teams will fold, so any extra money the NRL can tip in will help keep players at clubs.http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,26597028-23214,00.html?from=public_rss

    Awesome! First thing to do would be to buy Kevin Kingston back and resign some players!

    I'm not sure it's going to particularly help any team to recruit better players.
    If everyone has the money then nobody has any real advantage when it comes to retention and recruitment.
    It looks like it's aimed at paying players more in an attempt to give them greater incentive to stay in the NRL.

    Well since the only people who left Parra at the end of last year were forced to due to money, it will help in retention of players, with that we can keep Morts, Mateo with the increase in Tahu's payments after next year, it could also get us a few good young props for when Cayless and Moi Moi move on
