NRL legend Mark Gasnier tips Parramatta Eels to end six-year finals drought in 2016

• Staff writers• FOX SPORTS• December 11, 2015 7:51PMNRL legend Mark Gasnier has made a bold prediction about Parramatta’s 2016 season chances.Gasnier has tipped the Eels to end a six-year finals drought next year and finish top-eight.“I won’t give them an exact position but I’ll say five to eight,” Gasnier says in Sunday night's Summer Series program.Tune into our Eels club day on Fox Sports 1 from 10am (EST) today, featuring 10 classic Titans matches and finishing with the club’s 2015 season review from 8pm (AEDT)!“The Raiders, I can see them squeezing in, and the Eels.“You have a look at what they did last year, and how they’ve recruited, and how they should improve over the pre-season, and I think they’re kidding themselves if they don’t make the eight.”Parramatta has recruited one of the game’s best playmakers in Kieran Foran, and Gasnier says his combination with halves partner Corey Norman could be the difference.But it’s the recruitment of a lesser known player that Gasnier is most excited about.Cameron King joins the Eels after two seasons with North Queensland, with whom he played just four NRL games.Gasnier is interested to see how King complements first-choice hooker Nathan Peats.“Cameron King, like I said, is a really good signing to complement Nathan Peats,” Gasnier says.“Peats likes to wear the big boys early in the game whereas Cameron King is a lot more creative.“He will get the forwards onto the ball, be a bit more threatening around the ruck which will open it up for their halves.”

Definitely interesting what he has to say re King.He was held in high regard by saints. Most here would believe that he is behind
IDG and Prickhard might be worth giving him a shot.

  He was in representative teams all throughout his junior career, the main thing that has prevented him from becoming a regular first grade player is injuries.
