NRL Grade One for Hodgson.....

This has to be questioned. Surely this grapple last night by Hodgson deserved a grade 2 /3 ?

Does this typify the year the refs and MRC has had? I think so. It was ironic in some way that a grapple was done to a Melbourne player, but in all truth it was a terrible look and should have been a serious charge in my view.

    • I guess they have all forgotten about mickinnion already. Same with James should of got more than a week. Spend more time on the side line for touching a ref.
  • This is a disgraceful decision, the guy was using a players head and neck to try a wrestle him onto his back. Given there was another tackler already laying under him, the additional strain to the neck would have been noticable.

Grade 1 with no loss off game time is a joke, given Frizell copped a week for barely touching a ref.

    • Couldn't agree more TBUR about the Frizell one. It does not make sense and is a joke.

  • I love a good conspiracy but grade 1 was fine, and no priors means no suspension.

The tackle on BJ buy Jesse bromwich was a lot worse in my opinion.

  • So he only gets a grade one for that and Mau has twice missed weeks for barely touching someone.  The MRC are an absolute joke.  Just one of the many things thats a joke in this game these days.

  • Hamish maybe I missed something mate, but tackling and trying to twist a guy around head area is a bad look. Even Hollywood Harrigan said it was bad; the cannonball by Bromwich was not illegal according to Harrigan on Triple M, but late. That was also a cheap shot in my book. BJ Leilua is a dope but it was not good.

  • He should at least get 1 week and talk about beening spend what about hayne did he get off again touch the ref

  • Is it any wonder people are deserting the game. There is no leadership. It has lost everything that appealed to people. AFL looks better every day.

  • thank christ for that, i'm out of trades

  • That was the ultimate GRUB tactic, but lucky for him he didn't touch a ref. My love for the Eels is the only reason I don't walk away from this comp. I was about to call it a sport but unless you are loved by the NRL commission, you won't have a sporting chance. Another instance of the NRL controlling decisions made by refs, bunker & match review so they can get the outcome that suits them. THIS IS MATCH FIXING AT IT'S BEST. This guy tried to twist his head off & get's nothing. YOU DIRTY CHEATS.
