Did not realise kicking off the season is a bad thing??
Not sure what you mean Rhino. Can you explain why you think it's a bad joke?!?!?
We have the Best Stadium in Sydney with a great supporter base. We are given a Thursday night game at Bankwest Stadium and paying premium ticket costs. Would be happy to forgo the opening round for a Saturday afternoon or Night or better still a Sunday. Getting to game on a Thursday night is very difficult for me and my family from work/Uni and I would guess a lot of other supporters would be in the same boat unless retired. It may be good for the TV supporters but not for the ones that attend and go to work the next day or kids going to school. It is my opinion as a paying game attending supporter.
Can't pick and choose. Every team plays in every time slot throughout the year
Because its all about you. Plan ahead, take annual leave for that day, organise for the kids to have Friday off school, won't hurt them.
It's why they release the draw now so you have plenty of time to plan for said event. I'll be coming from Brisbane, I have to organise and pay for flights & a hotel, you don't see me whingeing about it.
Are you paying and going to the game? No problem with anyone not agreeing with my comments as long as they are paying game supporters. I know I have to put up with the draw just like this year having paid for season tickets. But to start with a Thursday night game doesn’t sit well. I guess I will watch it on TV or Fox as it a lot easier with travel distance. No further toad to the conversation.
Getting to kick off the season is awesome! I'll be there on that Thursday night. Will be a big crowd.
The opening round is not just for the fans going to the game, its for everybody and everybody can have an opinion surely?
Do you have kids to take Ryan? fair enough if you do and thats why you dont like thurs nights.
I reckon first game of the season vs our biggest rivals is pretty good, it will be a packed house for first game of the season regardless if its on thurs.
Its not about only the peoples feelings who go to this particular game, theres over a million eels fans in the country, many in different states.
I think most would be pretty happy about this first game fixture.
I am a season ticket holder and don't like attending thursday night games, great night for TV viewing but not to get out to the game BUT it's the opening game of the 2020 NRL season and we get to kick it off with a game at our great new stadium against one of our biggest rivals, you really have no grounds for complaints. If we get more than 2 home thursday night games i will be pissed off then but will still put the effort in to get there.
