Just had a quick look at the Eels' upcoming matches and I noticed we play the Titans again in round 5. How ridiculous is this?! Surely a second round match should be after all round 1 matches have been played, or at least towards the end of the first round. Can it really be that hard to do a sensible draw?

It's been like this for years mate. The main reason, I would guess, is that there are a number of games that are locked in every year, like the Eels v Tigers on Easter Monday, or Dragons v Roosters on Anzac day. All other games have to be slotted in around these set games, so it wouldn't be an easy thing to do.
Does it really matter ?
Broadcasters have a huge say in the schedule ?
It's like that every year it's a farce I'm a believer that there is to many teams and there should be some mergers or sides cur to have a proper home and away season.
Or a longer season so each team play each other twice
It will just give Jake another opportunity to break up the halves combo
They tried to open the season with Adam Reynolds up against his old team, but that didn't work out anyway.
Agreed though, a bit more spacing would be better.
While it is fresh in thier minds the boys should get a square up on Campbell for his illegal tackle that put Russell out for 6 weeks.
Just accept the draw is a bit funny like that and enjoy the football.
