NRL clubs drop cheerleading for 2017

One cartwheel forward two somersaults back! Feel for the girls that have had their dreams shattered by the decision to axe cheer squads for the Raider and also for the Dogs I'm hearing. The Bunnies did this a few years ago in place of drumming - lame.http://www.smh.com.au/act-news/canberra-raiders-drop-cheerleaders-in-2017-20161219-gte942.htmlThe girls work so hard on training, fitness, costumes and routines only to have some ignorant club officials destroy it all cause they feel 'uncomfortable'? Do these people realise we do things by choice? And if girls choose to cheer then it's our right! This despite the IOC recently recognising Cheerleading as a sport and giving it a provisional status to be included in the 2020 Olympic Games.http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/12/06/sports/olympics/cheerleading-muay-thai-provisional-olympic-status.htmlI'm glad the Eels haven't followed suit and Cheerleading is alive and well in Parramatta! Please show your support for cheerleading!

  • no no no no NO that will do me theres got to be an investigation . I LOVE THE CHEERGIRLS. WHO DOESNT.

  • Here we go, someone is offended and we cant have that so lets just ditch the girls and all hold hands and sing kum ba ya.

Bloody hell we cant sing that either because of its religious overtones.

Maybe we should just sit in silence and consider where we are headed as a society.

    • talk about a victim syndrome.

      1. Who got offended?

      2. I been to a lot of public carols by candlelight with a lot of religious songs and it wasn't stopped.

      3. As you suggested,  you sitting in silence sounds like a great idea to me.

The old PC and free speech chestnut i bet

    • I'm am so sick of the PC leftist f***wits. You cannot say or do anything because it might upset some stupid SJW's (social justice warriors). If they don't like our way of life send the lot of them to the middle east and see how long these oxygen thieves last.
  • Souths did it years ago but that was a commercial reason and they thought it was from a bygone era.

I like the cheerleading, so I would rather have it at the EELS

  • I'm a big fan of cheerleaders - as long as the girls are fit and attractive and enjoyable to look at.

I don't like rubbish footy players, and I don't like rubbish cheerleaders either.

    • 3321008529?profile=originalAhhhh, THAT'S better  :)))))

    • YEAH KRAM AT THE VERY LEAST UP TO THIS STANDARD THESE BABES ARE HOT. ARE THEY OURS

  • I hope the Eels do follow suit and ditch the cheerleaders.
    • Yes, of course you do.

Maybe they could change the half time entertainment to shitty never-really-made-it bands. That'll bring the punters in for sure ;)

God forbid the girls should have any fun.
