Why would Hayne want to walk back into a game where he is now being labelled a cap cheat, when he can move on from Rugby 7's into the 15 man game and link with one of his best mates Izzy FolauI'm no fortune teller but something tells me there is more to this rugby move than just the chance to play at the Olympics and if that is the case good luck to him, he will most likely get paid ridiculous money to play international rugby and test his athletic skills in yet another sporting realm. At the same time he can avoid this ridiculous salary system that the NRL has in place where for some players and some teams the ability to earn to your maximum worth is restricted while for others it is endlessAs for the media, they must be congratulated on their ability to get the truth out, unfortunately what is truth and retribution for one club is silence for many others. I know I am becoming very bored, frustrated and to be honest losing all desire for a game I once loved because of the media's one sided approach to this.To see in some media today that Hayne was called a "failure in the NFL" and a "cap cheat" absolutely shows the depths the media are going to in their death riding of the eels. Finally I see many comments in many of our blogs questioning the integrity of the NRL due to so much leaking of information to the media.......however we should expect no different.....the NRL is not an independent business it is a business run by Media conglomerates who many of our most hated journalists work for..........Rugby League sold itself to the devil and is now tearing out our eel loving souls

  • Allyour points are valid ones Gerringong, share your frustration, but stay strong by seeing how our team bonds in unity.

  •  NRI- read Greenburg--don`t want JH to come back to the Eels. Jarryd should tell him its the Eels or Rugby Union. Because the other codes are eating into crowd numbers the NRL will not want JH to go to union. So there is some leverage there that may help us.

    • Exactly Rob, there's a lot of leverage if jarryd was to spell it out in no uncertain terms, "For me it's Parra or Ruggers!

  • If he plays for Fiji he can't play for Australia which makes his value in Rugby Union zero. Unless of course he wants to play club rugby in France.

  • Who said anything about playing for Australia
He could still play for any of the franchises in Rugby anywhere in the world, would still get better money than in the NRL
    • As I said, only in France. The way Union pays in Australia is when you play for Australia. They pay very little at a franchise level, thats why the ARU have to sign off on the big contracts because the majority of their pay packet comes from the ARU not the Waratahs etc. Players like Izzy etc are actually on ARU contracts.
