Referees boss Graham Annesley has today come out in his weekly referees review and explained that Referee Chris Butler got the Pensisni no try ruling wrong. He goes on to explain that Muppet Mahoneys pass over the back of his head was clearly backwards and the try should have been awarded to Penisini in the 6th minute. Instead of being ruled a forward pass.
No mention that I could find of the first no try nor the Gutherson tackled without the ball, nor the last fingertip try to the Tigers. Anyone else see anything on these contentious Referee decisions.

Well lucky it didn't cost a win as we won anyway. But i understand referees are human but surely the bunker can now call on forward passes?
Does anyone else agree or do you think it is fair not to call on them, i can see how it would be difficult but the majority of forward passes you can see in replays.
There was a good angle on that try, which was shown in the press conference, however 9 times out of 10 there is not a good camera angle, so it's near on impossible for the bunker to rule on most forward passes.
I believe they should be able to rule on the obvious ones, the ones where it travels slightly forward the bunker shouldnt rule on because factors such as camera angles, weather conditions and available technology plays a role in the pass apearing to have travelled forward.
If its a couple cm forward, no ruling
Obvious couple meters forward, rule on it
Agree, imagine if it costs the game. There should be a new NRL rule that can actually override results of games IF it's deemed that a refereeing or bunker error has cost the losing team the game. This has been happening quite a lot
LB i think that if the referees boss can use video after the fact to work out / comment and make a final determination on weather the ball was thrown backwards or forwards, then i cant see why in a scoring play that the bunker cant do the same with the same video.
The ref & the bunker were bad. Anyway at least it did not cost us 2 points.
The NRL need that technology that determines forward passses. As long as it does not take 2 mins of bunker procrastination.
Bad Luck I suppose. I suspect for all the Referees involved it will be business as usual.
Yeah that one was obv. Those ones should be able to be overturned.
It seems like a weekly occurrence that the ref's boss is apologising for his referees poor performance but rarely do they cop punishment for it.
Exactly Bem. I hate seeing games determined by luck
