English Rugby League captain James Graham is being pursued by six NRL clubs with the prop off contract at the end of 2011.

The 25-year-old is being pursued by the Penrith Panthers, Canterbury Bulldogs, Wests Tigers, New Zealand Warriors, Sydney Roosters and Parramatta Eels.

Graham, whose Saints contract runs out at the end of next season, stayed on in Australia at the end of England’s Four Nations campaign to hold talks with clubs but has also promised to speak to St Helens before making a final decision.

Still in Australia, the 2008 ESL Man of Steel is hoping to have his future decided within the next few months, in what he says will be the biggest decision of his career.

With the success of English imports Gareth Ellis and Sam Burgess to the NRL competition, Graham has spoken to both about what to expect from the competition.

The incumbent national captain is not going to rush into making a decision although the attraction of playing in Australia is alluring.

  • The thinking maybe if the forward pack is strong, it will give any halfback room to play. I really don't think we are trying to sign anymore players.
  • The possibility is that perhaps Graham is seen as a replacement for Fui for when he retires?
    Who knows?
  • If we had the chance to sign him I would, almost immediately. He would be awesome in the NRL.
  • LOL - I don't think Parra is interested.. It's just anytime someone is available, there is a link to Parra.

He woud be good, but don't need him, and don't think we are after him either.
  • but it says his contract is ending in 2011.
Just becuase we got a bunch fo forwards this season doesnt mean we can't look at forwards form 2012.
Who is coming off contract at the end of next season and the end of 2012? You always got to be looking to the future and make sure u dont leave a stone unturned for good talent.
This is one peice of rumour that i am glad to hear.
  • Fui Fui is on the wrong side of 30 now and, as much as I love him, he can't keep going for ever. If we get one good year out of Webb that will be great. That leaves us with Poore and Mannah going forward. Of course we need this guy....
  • Nailed it. He would add a different dimension to our pack and with Poore and Mannah you've got three blokes with enough youth on their side but still plenty of experience that you've got a strong, stable pack going forward.

Moses will definitely be an Eel in 26 if not we are spoon favourites with no real replacement of his ilk on the horizon.
Ryles isn't the new Benji."
