It has been reported that Senior Eels players including Moses, Gutho that are on the higher pay scales at the Eels have banded together and pledged to the rest of the 30man Eels roster, That if the game shuts down due to The Corona Virus and the players have to take the reported pay cuts , that the Senior Playing Group will carry most of the burden and take huge paycuts instead of the medium to lower wage tiered players losing any income.
Now that's real Leadership, and shows how close and tight knit our players are. I for one would play my heart out for the senior players after an offer like that. I think our club has really turned a corner and that type of comraderie will be rewarded on the field when the going gets tough.

It's nice to have senior players without families to look after.
Well said Pops. As a supporter you get that dynasty feeling. Front office taken care of, comraderie taken care of , leadership in place now just on the field results are needed.
🤔
Pou just because Moses and Gutho do not have young families does not mean that they do not have financial commitments.
I'm not sure which other players are involved at the moment, however their are others and I'd love to name them too. Great Leadership not only to start the conversation and have a meeting about it, but to actually pledge their financial support to the others in the team is awesome.
impressive, well done
To outsiders, on first thought, this may seem like a no-brainer, but make no mistake about it, this is a massive decision for the top players. Their careers are only relatively short and can end with one major injury, so to come out with financial support for the players on lower pay is very impressive. Like all of us they have bills and 40-60 years on "normal" income to live after their careers.
Great blog, Nitram. I agree. Impressive showing by Moses & Gutherson. My respect for them as men has gone up by a few notches. It also shows they care about the club and game. It's not just about the money.
