Not surprised

Our forwards are the big problem!!!! I think many have acknowledged this except those who matter. There is not one forward that would even intimidate. They are either passed it or have been signed on potential and haven’t taken the step up. While they are good first graders individually they are not a strong pack. Semi last year masked our forwards problem by picking up their tab in attack with his runs. This year we are equally small in the backs. And when on the occasion our little team get on a roll like last week we seem to pull up. Many will say it was just a bad game but it identified our deficiencies.

  • I feared this pack would be exposed. The blue print is public. finished

  • Worst forward pack in the competition...
    • It is. Never thought it would be exposed this badly. Both Penrith and Manly forwards were either running over our forwards to the ball carrier was piggy backing a couple of out boys for another 10 metres. Manly's pack was constantly penetrating the line defence and creating 2nd opportunities because no one would cover the ball in the tackle.

  • Not one of our forwards went close to putting a shot on either this week or last week. It was all passive, by the book defence that allowed the ball carrier to get to the ground and a quick play the ball. Not a single forward put their stamp on the game. Not one!!!

It was an absolutely abysmal effort. And for the first time in many years, I'm truly ashamed of my team. That was beyond unacceptable.

    • You're right about the hits Mutt. That's a massive difference to how we played the best games last year. The players' heads are not in the right frame of mind. BA needs to take some responsibility for that at least.

    • Agree 100% with all this.

  • The eels dont have a bad pack
They have a shit front row

The best thing for parra is to aquire 2 young props that are big and strong enough to push Mannah and Matagi to the bench

    Fact is,
Mannah and Matagi are our best props
And thats where the problem lays

We need Junior Paulo and one other strong heavy battering ram who constantly bends the line back to spear head our pack

2 x Nightmare front rowers to start the game followed by Mannah and Matagi to come off the bench would be good. Mannah for Experience, consistancy and safety, Matagi for experience, speed and those cannon ball runs

    Alvaro is useless
    Evans is useless

Our front row is our downfall
  • Agreed.

What I've been getting angry about for some time is why wasn't that done about 2-3 years ago????

Stevie Wonder could see we had a lack of large props in our club. And what did we do about it? Absolutely nothing. Not a damn thing!

We brought Alvaro through the grades and that was it. BA has to answer for this situation.
