Norman: It’s good to be back

Tue 5th December, 03:30PM

The Parramatta Eels have today touched down in their home away from home, the Northern Territory for a week long pre-season training camp in the Blue & Gold’s home away from home.

Returning to the Northern Territory, the Eels are again planning a full twelve-month calendar of visits to #eelsterritory, including this week’s visit.

Speaking upon their arrival, Eels five-eighth Corey Norman says the side is glad to be back in the NT, looking forward to the week ahead.

“It’s good to be back. I have been here a couple of times and it’s always a good experience,” Norman said about returning to #eelsterritory.

“The temperatures are not too bad today but the previous times have been a bit hot but we have adapted to it which is good.”

“I think when we go out to the schools and out into the community, that will be really good as a group,” Norman added.

“We have done that a few times, it is a different experience and us boys really love it and it’s something different for us.”

With the Eels spending the rest of the week in a pre-season training camp and visits to the local NT community and schools, Corey Norman says the side is purely focused on doing whatever they can to prepare themselves ahead of the 2018 season.

“It’s Week Three of pre-season for some of us, it’s been tough but in saying that, we have a week and a bit to go before Christmas so it’s going pretty fast as well,” Norman said.

“He [Jarryd Hayne] is back now, and will join us after Christmas. I have played with Jarryd before, it is nothing new for me and I think all the boys are excited to get him back,” Norman added when asked about the return of Hayne to the Blue & Gold.

“We don’t really talk about it to be honest. You have to worry about yourself in the pre-season and get yourself right and put your best foot forward.”

  • Again Buzz Rothfield took time out in his Sunday artical saying...

We keep hearing there is a clash at Parramatta Eels between Brad Arthur & star playmaker Corey Norman. It's all being kept hush hush at the moment but we'll keep an eye on development.

Their are other clubs still looking for a quality playmaker including Manly and his Cronulla Sharks who both missed out on Mitchell Pearce. Arthur obviously rates Norman highly as a player but there is personality clash that creating the drama.

Same paper, same jurno's writing all the negative stories they can find wether it's true or not, they write it.
    • To Buzz's credit hes an old hat and has more contacts in the game than anybody, a lot of his rumours turn out to be spot on, he was spot on with the Jarryd signing too.

When a bloke like buzz comes out and is very confident about his news i tend to listen and believe it, not many put their rep on the line with total BS.

    • He was right about Madge getting the arse from the Bunnies also
    • Some here called it and said Hayne was coming back. With Madge yes he was correct, but he being wrong. As some here are wrong, Buzz never comes back & says I was wrong. But he will remind you the Daily Telegraph mentioned it first. My point was, are we the only team they are keeping an eye on. Are they finished with the Titans because Hayne now moved on. How Trent Robinson? I mean he tirn d the place upside down with Cooper Cronk signing. It just seems to be us all the time, season hasn't even started yet. Lol
  • Oh crap - another "should have been season" from Dozey - you might like to cast your minds back to his presser last year when he was going to conquer the world for the BnG.

    Softest pre-season ever.

  • Casey McGuire retired years ago mate - NO he won't be making a comeback.
