no room for a 2nd hooker?

With the interchanges going down, could De Gois and Pritchard be overshadowed by Nelson and Edwards who are not known hookers but can fill in when needed, it makes sense if your hooker can play 80mins
With De Gois only useful as a tackler and that's it, and Pritchard constantly injury prone, a utility seems more useful than a straight up hooker
Peats can play back-row but it is better for the team having him at hooker. Having Nelson or Edwards on the bench is handy as they can play Lock everyweek and if Peats is either hurt or needs a breather during a game, they can fill in
De Gois and Pritchard's only hope is Peats missing out due to suspension/injury or Origin they will come in and start

  • Teams have been running with 80 minute hookers for years now. The only ones who use two of them are the ones whose best hooker can't play a full game effectively.
  • De gois shouldn't be here next year
  • A second hooker is needed at the club, not necessarily on the bench. If your first choice is injured long term, I'd hate to go into the premiership with a stop gap.
    • Id love us to find another Pj Marsh style hooker. Would help immensely during injury ravaged periods such as this season. Kaysa has that potential, but the poor bloke has spent more time injured than not.

    • For sure sixties. Just like at every other position you need a backup at hooker. You just don't (necessarily) need an interchange hooker.

  • I've always got room for a second hooker, just never enough cash.
  • here till end of next year

  • I love seeing two hookers in a team but one of those players needs to be versatile enough to cover at the very least the lock and second row positions. If the halves may be covered to that's a bonus, PJ Marsh and Riddell were a great example of this. Piggy would often jump in the second row.
  • I don't agree a good night on the Devil's Dandruff

2 hookers are great for a couple of hours....

    LOL
