No light rail stop for new Parra stadium

For those of you hoping for a light rail stop near the new stadium, you are out of luck. The line goes all around us, but doesn't stop out front.Do we need a stop outside the stadium? Is there room for it? I'm sure the Leagues club would like a closer stop.http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/premier-gladys-berejiklian-reveals-16-parramatta-light-rail-stops-20170217-guf6g3.html

  • That's what I was trying to say when you blogged the stadium designs. Ideally it would be good to have it out the front. It will be stopping at Prince Alfred Park and the Parramatta North zone however which is not far.
  • The article DOES mention... 'first phase of the project will also see a stop at the new western Sydney stadium'.
    • Have you got the same article that I do? Are you referring to the video which states that the stadium and powerhouse museum are a short walk from the city centre?

    • You wouldn't want it right outside anyway. Imagine the traffic congestion, crowd piling out of the stadium crossing roads. Looks like only a short walk, a couple blocks away.
  • Surely we aren't that lazy? A few minutes walk won't kill you. What will access be like for senior citizens or people who need assistance? I hope this issue is taken into consideration.
  • As long as it does not bring any Dogs supporters I don't care.

    • Actually I'd like to see busses going to nearby areas also. Finding parking in Parramatta is only going to get worse.
    • Brett, exactly my point. The government are redeveloping the stadium, why not coordinate the rebuild and add something like that for the light rail.
  • Yobs honestly, The prince Alfred stop is virtually 200 meters away ( 2 blocks). Honestly, I don't understand how any person, unless disabled, can be complaining about walking 200 meters.

    It's just laziness.
