No go for Kinga payback plan

The NRL has knocked on the head Kevin Kingston's offer to give back his match payments from this year in order to help the Parramatta Eels retain him for next year. David Gallop was quoted by The Daily Telegraph as saying: "It's a generous offer and shows the spirit in the club ... but unfortunately bonuses have to be clearly identified". "At the point of offer one club may well have secured the player over another because of the bonuses that were promised. To simply remove them would disadvantage the club that didn't secure the services of the player." if we lose him for 2010, if he signed a 1 year deal elsewhere could he come back to us in 2011 if we needed him?

Fair enough. That was the big problem with the Bulldog's salary cap issue a few years back. It's not the 300K you can play one player, it's the extra 30K you can pay 10.

I think if he handed it back he somehow would've got it back thru the club or players. Ya know the old "under the table" payments that has made the Roosters and Manly famous....... I'd love to keep him though!

He has been playing great for us but im thinking they are clearing the way for Anthony mitchell next year.

"Did you watch him play in this years final for Souths? He was owned by old man Gagai. Laurel went missing all game although he did pass the ball from dummy half a lot to the other outside backs to work it out of their end. Massive NO."
