  • I cant see this happening. They are struggling to have the stadium completed and ready for the start of the 2019 NRL season

    • Last I read it was scheduled for mid 2019 season, I could be wrong, it could have changed recently. I don’t know
  • Works are going well but once wet weather hits in Winter it will slow them up.

Can't seeing them be ready for round 1 let alone let alone pre season.

  • If it is completed in time.
It would be a fair cracker of an opening event at the new stadium
  • It's due to be finished March 2019, the nines are in Feb. It won't happen next year, but I like the idea of the nines rotating around the major cities every year.

    • As long as the Nines tournament or the Wanderers don't Christian our new stadium, I'll be glad because I want our mighty blue & golds to to play on opening day.

As for all the talk about construction delays due to rain, and during which seasons do we get more rain in Sydney etc, surely all that talk depends on wether we're in the midst of an "El Nino" period, or a "La Nina" period?

If we were in the middle of a "La Nina" period, that's when we should worry about delays in construction because you get cooler & wetter than average temperatures & rainfall.

Obviously we're currently experiencing the effects of an "El Nino" period and that's why we're not getting much rain at all, plus hotter than average temperatures.

So, you wouldn't think there'd be many, if any construction delays due to rainy days unless the weather pattern switches from El Nino to La Nina between now & March 2019.

    • Won't be finished in March, you're dreaming
  • Obviously you weren't on the NSW mid coast when the Pasha Bulker got washed ashore a few years back.

Also last year it rained for a month around easter.

      • It experiences pretty much the same weather patterns. The point is it does rain in months other than summer months.

If it doesn't rain in Sydney between now and the start of the 2019 season, I'll come back and offer my personal apology.

          • Im on the mid north coast and we havent had decent rain for months. You step on the grass and it turns to dust.

"Yeah the fact he came out and pretty much responded to the favouritism chat, shows he is listening and is concerned as well. He could have not commented with the approach of I'm the boss and can do as pleased but he is concerned.
Let's be honest…"
