NFL season 2014/15

The wait is over with the Packers falling to the Seahawks in Seattle. Mike McCarthy was quick to say "We'll move on to the Jets. It's not a one game season."

Greenbay have some injury concerns with B.J. Raji out for the season, Bryan Bulaga with a recurrence of his left knee injury and Eddie Lacy also placed on the I.R.

Many pundits though have already penciled in Greenbay for a playoffs berth simply because of Aaron Rodgers. Provided the Packers stop giving away stupid third down penalties, sorting out their offensive line and can close the middle seams on the run, they'll be a threat this season.

Clay Matthews looks incredibly fit this season and alongside Julius Peppers the Packer's Secondary looked strong, putting Wilson under plenty of pressure.

Triple header begins on 7Mate tomorrow morning from 6am.

  • Only two surprises in week 1. The Texans beat the Bears and the Panthers win without Cam Newton.
  • Week 2 has thrown up some surprises. Packers come back from 17-0 to win 31-24. Chicago also mount a comeback after Kaepernick has a shocker in the second half and the San Diego Chargers have thrown the upset of the season so far in defeating the Seahawks. Rivers showed he wasn't afraid to take on Richard Sherman when he was in man coverage and it paid dividends.

    • 9ers will not win a super bowl. Kap cannot go on with the job.

  • Exactly. I said it last year and at the start of this season, the 9ers will not win a Super Bowl with Kaepernick as quarterback. His running game is far too dominant. He lacks a lot in the decision making and pass selection categories. One of his intercepts came because he failed to notice a defender who was watching him in the secondary. He threw the pass and the defender picked him off. Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson and Tom Brady are probably the four best pass selectors at the moment. All four use the run as their last option. They buy time in the pocket and wait for a man to get open whereas Kaepernick runs virtually as soon as he receivers are covered, he doesn't give them enough time. Admittedly it may also be an issue with his offensive line. Defences though are getting was to Kap's decision making, knowing if there's any kind of pressure in the pocket he'll either throw it or attempt a run.

"Agreed. I won't renew him no matter how well he plays. He was still sketchy yesterday. He is a good impact bench player against tired edges and Moses slipping him balls. "

"Hmmm. The only in would be Moretti for me. Maybe. I'd let him maybe have more time in reggies first. I'd keep Guymer.
So basically, same team. Yes even De Belin. I want De Belin to be in the team first few rounds then things will change IMO. Him…"
