You don't see them signing former rep players like Michael Jennings for $800k a season do you?
They may have been interested in Jennings but for probably $400k a season.
They probably got Pearce on the cheaper side because he wanted to play halfback and the Roosters were possibly paying a fair chunk in his first season at Newcastle?
Apart from Ponga, Klemmer and Pearce, I don't see anyone else in their squad that would be on big money.
It's easy to understand why we don't have much money left in our cap.

Really the Jennings/Semi Centre/Wing Combination should of been THE most destructive in the comp but Jennings fkd any chance of that

Radrada didn't see the ball while Jennings was inside him, Takarangi was by far better at setting Semi up than else that played inside him.

They might have been two solid years but no way did they warrant the $800k price tag.
$800k are for match winners...… not players who can't even set a winger up.
How could you call Jennings a rep player? He hasn't shown any glimpse of being a standout player or leader for Parramatta and we have been the worst side over the past 10 years.

Our halves aren't rep quality but are paid like they are. We need to be a lot smarter and do a lot better. It's not about going all 'money ball' either. Just be smarter where the big dollars are spent.
