In my opinion this new use of the 10 minute 'sin bin' for head high tackles is ruining the game. Its bordering on stupidity! How can a team with 13 against 12 players who score winning points be truly classified as the legitimate winner of the game especially when there is 'grey' areas in the interpretation of what is a deliberate head high tackle. Watching the Roosters vs Penrith is just one example. Roosters leading 12 - 6 then they lose a player for a head high tacke which in my opinion was accidental due to the slippery conditions and then Penrith score tries and go to the lead. Its becoming ridiculous.

It was horrible. Cleary fell into the tackle. They need to change the penalty for high tackles anyway. 10min is way to long for a soft tap on the head. 5 min maybe?
its becomming a joke, ruining the game.
The better team still wins.
I understand what your saying Brett but seriously how can the better team win if they score more points against a team with less players?
Because they score more points.
Sure the better team won but it ruins the contest. There's already too many lopsided scores without the refs starting the blowouts
Yeah, but in a strange kind of way its a good thing in that it's highlighting how far behind the bad teams really are. If nothing else its really illustrated the gulf in class between the top 6 and the rest, and the fact that the top 5 at least aren't going anywhere anytime soon. All 5 teams at the top have great system in place for identifying & developing talent, albeit some more advanced than others, the bottom 10 for the most part do not, the exception being the Sharks whose youth development system is punching above its weight presently.
The NRL should be more concerned with that than trying to keep games artifically close.
Did you see the one late in the cowboys game?
No I didn't Meelk.
Robson from the cowboys hit tolman, who fell, about 3 feet off the ground. Would have been a tackle around the hip if tolman didnt fall.
