New signings to be announced?

Guys, even LU site is dead on new signings. Does anyone have any actual information on wether there will be anyone to come? Ignoring Cornish rumor, any centres???

Greg Bird interestingly has been mentioned again recently as someone the Eels are trying to wrangle. I just hope we can get a quality back line (centre hopefully) player with the inclusion of a Hoppa swap.

If you have some rumors, spray em here. I need the optimism after yesterday lol

  • greg bird LOL

  • Some big dark ex nsw player from penrith coming? Not sure who it is
    • I watch Panthers closely and consider Idris a valued player. Has helped win many a game at Ruff. He seemed excited on sideline yesterday. I wonder why he wants to leave. Chasing more money?
    • Hey they guy u talk about sill be wearing purple next year if happily.put money on this
  • It has been floating around that we may get Idris which isn't exactly that great a signing. But if Hoppa leaves i honestly wouldn't mind Jamal signing with us.

He is the size of a front rower so he is obviously a bit slow, but at worst he would be as slow as Hoppa anyway. Jamal offers more in attack because of his size. He is more likely to have the winger come in on him and commit which would leave Robinson (who i think will be on the wing next year) a free run to the try line. If the winger doesn't come in and it's just Jamal up against his opposing centre i don't think there is too many centres in the league that wold be able to stop Idris one on one.

In regards to Greg Bird i say no. I hope we don't get him because he wouldn't come cheap and we already have enough older boys in the team.

But Tanginoa and Cornish seem the most likely signings that we may get.

    • If Jamaal Idris comes to Parra that's it.
It will be confirmed that BA has no idea about talent.
Idris is nothing but an overrated lump who is injured more often than not. If it were up to me it would be thanks but no thanks.
  • I can't see Scott playing the full 80mins next year and think her will rotate with Moeroa. I'm not saying i think Idris is the best centre for us but if Hoppa does leave i would rather Idris that Morgan. It looks more and more likely that we are signing Idris and i think he could offer a similar role as Takairangi does on the left.

This year has proved that a centre doesn't have to be fast to have a lethal edge attack. I could see us trying to mirror our right side edge to our left and i think a Foran/Idris/Robinson combination could get us a few points next year. Maybe not as much as our left side attack but it could give us more options then just get the ball to Semi.

  • I would prefer hoppa over idris.. not really going forward if we sign idris he is washed up IMO

  • Main problem with Idris is his attitude.

    Can BA fix this?
One of BAs strengths is getting player buy in.
Maybe worth a try on a short contract
Except Foran is only certain for two years
Really need to make the most of it
Can't afford disasters now - Like Pokeaarse
    • Yeah Wile, the players look like they buy in every game.
They showed they loved BA this year, 2 pts clear of another spoon.
