NEW EELS DEAL
Parramatta have re-signed forward James Hasson for another season.
The 24-year-old joined the Eels last year after three seasons with Manly.
With 39 NRL games to his name, Hasson failed to feature in any first grade games in 2016 but has still extended his stay until the end of 2017.

For a prop at that age that's with persisting with
My thinking is that Hasson and younger local Alex Twal may fight out an extension to contracts with this signing as both will be off contract at end of next year.
I can only remember seeing Hasson in a couple of games he played for Manly seemed a strong runner but can't say what else with him though.
Twal has impressed me with the games I have seen him in, especially when he represented NSW in the younger SOO matches, he's still raw and would like to see him put on some more muscle to his frame. He has more youth on his side and both he and Hasson are around the same weight and height.
I hope the tigers do get Kelepi he like dave taylor big softy
I was picked up the 1eeyed spell an gramma checker who said resigned means he has pulled the plug and left, for someone to extend his stay it means he has to re-sign.
Thanks Ray. Think the case with Hasson was injuries so not surprised with the new deal, the next ones may be Cornish, and perhaps Tangles, although he was injured as well, he has had chances here & Cows.
While the Wenty thing is seen a step backwards, the only problem as I see it is that its still not to the same standard as the old reserve grade comp, although if each of the ISP teams were strengthened with more top line qualified players may be a different kettle though.
When I used to go to every game and the 3 grades played I never missed the 3 unless working, enjoyed the whole time, and each grade was used for specific roles, 3rd was to ease injured players back, then to step into reserves for the next step up prior to being deemed ready to be in the top side. That is how ISP/Wenty needs to be really looked at rather than squad for perhapsers, a team that is a presentation for the next step up.
