  • Just a few pics I have picked up of the early submissions from a couple of stadium designers/builders.

    • Chief, your sex change has gone extremely well looking at your avatar. Lol Much better than the Ron Burgundy look.

They mention that 30,000 capacity considered too small but don't mention what final capacity will be.

  • This thing is gonna be huge! I really hope they get it right as ther seems to be a few parties involved - too many cooks spoil the broth.
  • So this really just is ideas at this point, is this what goes to different architects as key points to consider when planning?

  • Thanks Chief, great blog.  It looks massive, very similar to the Storm's oval.  It looks like more car parking is needed.  Do you know whether there will be a gym built inside one of the stands?

    • All contained within the link I provided earlier.
  • This is the best thing to happen for the club in decades, this will be the start of a huge new era, something for supporters and the community to be really proud of, can't come soon enough.

  • All looks pretty good. Seats that are close and then rise steeply is a must for any sport. The "active" area and rail seats will be the only thing that causes some conflict you'd think. Undercover seating all around the ground is simply vital to get fans attending even when it's a wet weather game. Also opens up further m'ship options like the Storm do with a lot of fans behind the posts and undercover. The BIGGEST thing for me is the area outside the stadium. We need a flat, open space where people can hang around before the game (and after) unlike the current cramped, uneven ground which gets really congested. Need space for food vendors and other stuff all around the stadium on the outside. The pool removal should help as that whole third of the stadium currently has no entry point causing a lot of traffic at other gates and walkways.

"The PNG national squad always does OK, plus the grassroots are already established. Plus, the entire country loves the game. I'd be more optimistic of PNG fielding a compettiive side over Perth. "
