It's terrible, needed to post but don't advise watching it. Make sure you're in the vicinity of somewhere safe to throw-up if you do intend to view it though.

Yeh, I actually like it. Maybe, it's because I'm so much around kids and footy but the ad really resonated with me and made me smile!
Don't lie, it's because you're a closet Robbie Williams groupie.
Well they wanted to have recent footage and the likelihood is if you show a game from the last three years we are losing.
Less South Sydney, less shit fans that are too rigid and something more like the SL ad which is very good imo.

Cringe worthy.
I think they would have had very different briefs. NRL is trying to broaden its reach as much as possible, Super League is trying to recover its heart-land. I still don't get the whole new era thing going about with Super League?
The issues I have with it are:
I find the censoring near the start jarring. No issues with cutting out arse (not that it is really that foul of a word these days anyway) but it feels sloppy. Not sure if Williams has a radio edit with a different word (tush etc) or if the NRL could have commissioned a version with the edit but as it is it may seem petty but I am not a fan.
Who ever did the sound effects was heavy-handed. A different approach would have been to time the key shot (i.e big hit or try) from each each clip with a peak in 'Let Me Entertain You' so you have a harmonious audio/visual cue. The style used in the ad also works to a degree but only the firework cuts really sync with the song itself.
My last issue is one of purely personal taste but I think the GI goanna celebration is cringe worthy (I understand the significance of it but the physical motion itself is annoying for mine) and seeing it used in a national ad campaign isn't my cup of tea.
Once again Parra is relegated to the side that other teams score against in TV commercials. Even our young kids are being intimidated by opposition young kids. Someone in NRL marketing really hates us.
