New Member Intro

Id like to introduce myself as a long time lurker and first time poster on this forum. Im a die hard eels fan since i knew what a football was.I attended a charity golf day which was to raise money for the Children's Hospital at Westmead which was run by a friend of mine who lost his little girl to brain cancer. He now dedicates all his time to raising as much money as he can to fight this terrible disease. At this charity day he managed to secure signed jersey's from the Penrith Panthers, Canterbury Bulldogs, 2 West Tigers, Western Sydney Wanderers & Sydney FC. When he contacted the Eels he was essentially told they weren't interested. My question is How can this club that we love and supposedly supports The Childrens Hospital as it says on there website not find the time to have a jersey signed and auctioned for charity. I know this sounds like a rant but i was just saddened to hear how supportive the rest of western sydney clubs were and for my Eels to not care.

I think they are only now starting to get back on track with these sort of fan requests.

    Welcome aboard

    • Cool... I was thinking the same mate. Was the worst yr in our clubs history last yr
  • It does sound a bit sad on behalf of the club, I can't tell you why or make any excuses for the club, you just never know though. Does sound a bit ruthless but I'm sure every sporting club in the world has said the same at some point of time. With the good comes the bad, we still do a lot of great charity work and support them well.
  • is it the new nokia 3110?
