New Halfback

With the future of Foran in doubt do you think we should be looking around for a new halfback?

It appears both Hastings & Nikorima at Roosters are both on the outer and either one would be a good pickup imo. With guidance from Norman (his future also in doubt with potential jail sentence hanging over his head) they have potential to perform at high level. Would prefer Hastings over Nikorima though.

I really like Hastings and was surprised that we didn't go after him before June 30. The bloke has so much talent and is a future star. I've heard he polarises his teammates but wonder what someone like BA could do with him.

There is more doubt over Norman, considering he doesn't have a contract beyond this year. Foran has a contract for next year, and the two years after that if he decides to stay.

No. Foran's life appears to be in a mess and the club sent him a warning via a breach notice. But we're on the hook for millions so isn't it a better option to devote some time to player welfare rather than contribute to instability by scouting?

  You cannot help a player who thinks that he doesn't need help. Parra gave him a breach notice because he missed a rehab session. A few more misses and more off field trouble will have the club cancelling his contract.
  
  No better to have a young motivated player with obvious potential playing than an uninterested player, taking a huge chunk of the cap, playing nowhere near his previous standard. Maybe both he and DCE compliment each other so well that they play great together but not on their own!

I'd go after Sam Williams..
He's a very steady level headed halfback that has composure something that we need and would be fairly cheap to I reckon

  IMO Sam Williams is no better than Kelly or Cornish...much of a muchness...
