This is by far and away the BIGGEST problem with Parramatta supporters. We always look for a saviour and a quick fix!
This is even reflected in the way Parramatta are playing at the moment. Instead of completing sets and doing the hard work early on, we simply offload and toss it to Hayne in the vain hope that he will work his magic. There is no quick fix and there is no saviour.
The squad we have now, is the squad that got us to the Grand Final last year (of course minus the Todd and Kinga). We have the talent and the potential to work our way out our current slump, but it will not be the result of a saviour. ALL our boys need to put in. We have an immensely talented squad and with KK, Morts, Humble and Robbo all potentially able to play halfback, I don't think we need ANOTHER resigning.
for one we already have tom humble and i think you give him a chance he will prove himself not only is he fast and dynamic he suits parras style of play
I'd have to say no. We don't really need a saviour, we need a team to play as a team and some egos to take a backward step. The dogs mustn't rate Barba as a halves replacement because they want all our halves!
From the little I saw against the Sharks, we have some guys completely not playing to the coach's game plan. That is of course in the unlikely event that Ando can't coach and that is the crap plan he came with!
I think Morts & Kris Keating will be the halves pairing in the near future, and I hope they will be for years to come. No need to sign Barba plus we will be paying overs and I doubt we will have enough cash to do it unless there is a trade with mateo or something similar. As far as Tommy Humble I don't think he is being trained to play as a halfback he is more one of these new fullback (five eighth-ball player) in the Todd Carney mould not sure if he is long term half back solution.
Parramatta made the Grand Final last year with Jeff Robson at halfback, why turn on him now? The Eels also have Kris Keating capable of playing well and now there's talk about some Bulldogs reject! WTF
while everything u said was right. i wouldnt say robbo is immensely talented. If robbo was immensely talented he would have steered us to win the gf. cooper cronk schooled him in the GF.He is the class of halfback parra need. robbo wnt b the half back to win us a comp. That said. No way would i sign barba when we need to steer kk and morts into the parramatta halves combination that can do it.
Otherwise dnt buy another up and comer who may do the job but buy a already class half back, barber would just be another flop like the amazing list of let down half backs parra have had since sterlo.
:-) Have a read - you will notice I said an immensely talented SQUAD and then listed the players ABLE to play halfback.
While I love Robbo, I need to make that distinction. He defends well, but doesn't quite hve the talent to lead us around, especially with Morts down on form.
"If he wasnt released mid season , they would have tried very hard for next year. Have a feeling that's why richo released him early so dogs couldn't get him as they would have no cap or spots for this year"
"Well if that's the case we shouldn't have signed him hey . What the stuff are we talking about the dogs and Reed for .Anyway We got DaSiilva end of story and the Dogs didn't. Happy Days"
