New CEO and 2020 jersey

Will we be getting a new design next year? Some of the concepts  posted on this site are awesome.

Finally, any updates on the new CEO?

  • Speaking to Bernie a few games back he told me that next year the only jersey change will be the Heritage jersey (which we wore at Bankwest opening day) will become our main Home jersey.

The current yellow will be our away jersey.

The current blue will be our alternate jersey.

No news on new CEO however you’d assume Jim Sarantinos (current COO) will take over.

    • Why don’t they go big for their CEO? The broncos and storm ones don’t want to leave? As if parra isn’t an enticing task.

      • We are looking around. We met with potential candidates when we played in Melbourne in the Semi Final.

      • Why we would we want the Brisbane ceo with the shit going on up there in the last 12 months or so. They're an absolute rabble!

    • Happy that the heritage is becoming our home. Creates a more traditional feel & the current blue home jersey with white shorts just doesn’t do it for me.

      • This whole jersey thing is crap, if we go to the home game jersy being the so called heritage jersey which if looked at in reality, the current one is more heritage than the one propossed as it was part and parcel of the beginnings of the eels.  As I have said elsewhere the jersey is nothing, but what's inside it is the big thing for me.

I also don't give a rat's about what is worn as long as the traditional blue and the gold are used, the dumb aspect of this issue is that if what Mutt says is correct, and the away jersey is going to be the same as the away jersey this year, meaning mostly yellow, that is totally dumb and looks worse than the home game jersey this year, which would when all is said and done be a totally better option than the predominately yellow one.

While I don't have issues with the white shorts either, I would much prefer the shorts to be the traditional blue colour with either a single wide vertical strip down the sides, or have multiple strips on the side around 4 of them.  The predominant blue is more to our heritage than the gold away one.

    • I don’t care if they keep the current blue jersey, it’s the yellow one they need to fuck off it looks awful and we never seem to play well in it. Shit call if they keep it

      • Our oldest son gave me an eels jersey as a belated fathers day gift, it has the ALAND sponsors name on it and for all intended purposes it looks ok, although the blue is lighter then it should be, also its light material, meaning Licra or similar, ok in summer I guess but not sure in winter though, Iit also has sponsors name on it and official NRL badges etc.

I have one of the old original jerseys in the stripe version, and with Asics sponsorship on it, the blue is darker and more correct, the interesting thing to me though was that I always had some doubts as to the current jersey and that was in regard to the number of stripes and the non contiunation of them all around the jersey, where the current one has uninterupted blue section under the arn pits.

I decided to compare the two jerseys against each other, and from the outset it was very obvious that there are differences between them.  The Aasics one has wider but less yellow bands, which is also differnt to the originals, although having the less bands and more blue actually looks much better.

The original jersey had 7 bands with one on the shoulder then 6 on the front and back as they continued around the the jersey.  Also as the jersey in those days had proper white collars it also had, long sleeves, which had the yellow bands around the arm section that corresponded with the bodies jersey bands.

To me the lesser gold bands making for a broader blue area is a much better design.

    • If thats the case we can lock it in because next years jerseys have already been submitted as they are this time every year.

Very disappointing about our away strips remaining the same, they look shit and weve been shit in them.

  • Ask any footy fan which jersey is Parramatta Eels and give them the option of the boiled lollie and the 86 jersey and everyone other than a few old muppets on here that like to re-live their days they could get a stiffy without a pill or a picture of Judy Garland in her knickerbockers will tell you the 86 jersey .
