Need for a back-up hooker

I like Hands, he is NRL standard, though last night was evident his body is suffering playing full-time hooker at the moment, he will adapt but he looked fatigued last night. It made us controlling the middle harder.

Though there is nobody to come in at 14 to cover him. Yates showed he is nothing more than a reserve grader, he could be a player that can fill in for 15 or so minutes but take over for full 80? I mean he could defend ok but it I'll basic as possible from him.

Matt Arthur is performing in Flegg but too big a leap to go to 14 in FG at 18, he should go to cup now though in my opinion.

I think the window to get someone mid season is gone, so atm it's hard, but BA might need to bite the bullet with either Yates or MA for Hands to be good for semi's.

  • Agree mate we need a hooker. The window isn't gone at all. Once teams like dragons, tigers, knights. Dogs etc know they 100% out of finals they're willing to offload players. Someone like Jake simpkins is a option with the tigers having api and da silver there going forward. Hate to say it but Hodgson might need to come back asap, we could of used his experience and leadership the other night

    • JH last night in defence would have been same though in attack would have added guidance, he's out for the year but I reckon.

Simpkin would be nice to just have around the club as break glass option.

I thought June 30 was the deadline.

  • ngl our roster management regarding our spine and outside back is very poor

  • Reports on the 9 news eels are looking for a hooker and actually turned to Joey lussick in the super league
