all the talk is about how we need to keep nathan peats, now I'm going to post some numbers and see if you still think he is worth it. keep in mind that peats would be expecting to increase his value next year.
in 3 years playing for parramatta nathan peats has put on his boots 32 times from a possible 61 games, not to mention the 6 times he didn't finish the game, at that rate even if the eels were to make the finals this year if nathan peats injury run continues, there is almost a 50/50 chance he won't be in the team anyway.
now everyone is saying that he's in line to be NSW hooker, now or post robbie farah. so i compared the pair as well as comparing him to the 2nd in line QLD hooker.
nathan peats 2016 stats
- tries 1 , try assists 0
- line breaks 1, line break assists 0
- average runs per game 6 at 9m per run
- average 45 tackles with average 2 missed tackles
robbie farah 2016
- tries 0, try assists 0
- line breaks 2, line break assists 2
- average runs per game 7.2 at 10m per run
- averages 40 tackles with 0.8 missed tackles
jake friend 2016
- tries 1, try assists 8
- line breaks 2, line break assists 5
- average runs per game 5.2 at 7m
- average tackles 56 with 2.3 missed tackles
as much as i like nathan peats as a player stats don't generally lie, he is a run of the mill hooker with no real attacking flare. he might be next in line for NSW but that not because he's a star more just the fact they have little depth. from what I've seen I'm happy if we let him go kaysa to idg could easily produce those sort of stats with the same amount of time.

Good blog and completely agree.
id sell nathan peats and idg retires, then i would upgrade norman and sign kodi nikorima but i am quite happy to leave that to brad author to decide.
QLDs 3rd string hooker who wasn't starting early this season, jake granville
trys 1, try assists 5
linebreaks 1, line break assists 8
runs 6 times at 8m
tackles 31 with 1.4 missed tackles
jake graville has played 100mins more then peats this season.
come back to me with a valid argument, peats is one of the bottom 3 attacking hookers in nrl in a starting team
If i was BA i would be trying to sign him for next year and let him play the rest of this season somewhere else if theres no other option but to loose him.
