Well this comes out of nowhere. Current NSW Cup coach Nathan Cayless is set to be appointed as the head coach of Hull KR. Meaning we will need a new NSW Cup coach. I think a tiny bit harsh to critique Cayless' job since we have had injuries this year. But in the past his teams haven't been coached overly well at both Parramatta and NZ Warriors.
Good on him for the appointment but we now can get a very good NSW Cup coach as well.

I think Rankin gets it to be fair but I would look at Jason Taylor perhaps?
Maybe there is a decent Flegg coach who would look for a promotion?
But thinking about it I think Rankin gets it. We either get a new Flegg coach or promote everyone up one and get a new HM coach?
Probably Rankin followed bye josh Hodson although the latter has only been looking after Harod Matts maybe to soon for him
I don't think Flegg is too big a jump from Matts. I wouldn't think you would need to jump grade to grade to grade.
Ryles didn't coach any grades and is now head coach. Foran as well. Luke Burt coached 20's straight away. Same with Cayless doing Cup.
I think Hodgson to Flegg is not a bad idea and would have been a part of the plan to have Hodgson to eventually make his way up to coach Cup or even be assistant in NRL.
Or maybe they do just that where each grade coach moves up one and we get a new Matt's coach.
Look more likely doesn't happen but I wonder if David Gower gets a go. BA always said him and Moses he saw being coaches. Gower is still involved in the club with educating the juniors about paths to employment and does stuff with NRL as well. He could be up to doing coaching. I saw him in a video with Flegg he was with them at training so he could be doing assistant coach as we speak.

I thought Luke Burt would have made a decent coach, he was a smart player and a likeable character.
He hasn't really gone on with it though.
Luke Burt's going to png.. has been at the Bears and done ok....
Burt's done a pretty good job at Burleigh and is now heading off as an assistant to PNG Chiefs.
