Thoughts on his last 12 months ?
I don't think he's playing at NRL level . Put it this way , Bryce Cartwright for all his flaws has offered more in his 3 mins a week than Brown has all season .
Last year he carried injuries that ate into his off-season so i'm not sure anyone should be expecting the world of him but even his aggression is missing . His tackling is ineffective regularly leading to h toe ball carrier landing on their front or offloading. He's just out there going through the motions. Been very sub par in my opinion. Ryan Matterson is going 1000000x better but I don't think swapping them is the answer because Matto is carrying us when Junior and Reg are on the bench and I don't think NBrown is showing he could . Matto is now a priority re-signing , we should see if we can get the Dolphins to bite and take NBrown but I think Bennett knows what he's doing .

I didn't realise he was playing
I've been saying it for weeks, Nathan Brown has lost his impact. He makes zero tackle busts, and crumples when he hits the defensive line
Actually it is not just Nathan, I think the team carries a "hubris" of they have qualified already and lets go through the motions.
WE have in the many posts made after this Easts game talked about the weak mental energy in the side?
Nathan does epitimise it and I think Reed does as well. The reality is that Opie and Hayze are solid players but offer no inspiration to the working forwards....they sit back every week and wait for Mitch and Dyllan to work magic.
Now we know the Coach has been tearing strips of them over exactly the things we are talking about.....it is hard to question his resolve but maybe he makes them weak by his lack of action. i.e. drop Nathan Brown to the bench, same with Lane....Kafusi is going through the motions, Makatoa is just not good enough, sometimes there are no choices i,e, Opie is solid but not good enough and we have no obvious replacements. Looking at reserve grade, no one is putting pressure on, are they resolved to that? could be!
So in my opinion we should be doing a mid season review (don't get excited over the term) to establish where we are and what we need.....at the very least this establishes a platform for the end of this season and the beginning of next..... such a review has to be done very carefully but it is not a big deal if you constructively apply it. i.e. like faciliating a corporate plan mid year to assess an update on performance relative to budget and planning......I would even call it a mid season service and talk about having it every year in the future as part of our general planning.....the General Manager (O'Neill) should co ordinate it and bring in a external consultant to overview on behalf of the board. The consultant that led the review from post Donnelly days would be ideal.
Questions can then be addressed relative to the tiredness of the coach and the attitude of the players and whether the tunnell of development players is being adressed adequately.
I definitely think he has been a passenger this season.
I would be elevating Matterson to 13 and dropping NB to the bench.
Matterson offers so much more and NB can just be a bash and barge bench rotation prop. He can't be any worse at it than Makatoa and Kaufusi are.
He has turned into Tim Mannah with less eyebrow
I think he's been really ordinary . He's been the worst of our forwards by far .
He has 1 or 2 decent runs (off the back of other good carries ) a game but his line speed has gone out the window . He's now just an undersized middle with minimal aggression .
Snottie i reckon youre onto something, fair assessment
How exciting would a decent mid season transfer be right now .
What type of player or position are you thinking Wiz?
Yep!
