Moses and Norman gone - sign Maloney with Panthers carrying some of his salary. I think Maloney and Salmon are a really good combo and Maloney is one of the best goal kickers in the league.
Pritchard and King gone - sign Isaac Luke to help Mahoney out and that’s a really great rotation
Mannah, Vave and Gower - sign Taupau (this is the most important)
Hoffman, Davis and Auva’a gone - already replaced by Siva and Ferguson
Get rid of Taka and somehow M. Jennings I think the Knights need him and we’ll pay some of his salary
Obviously you need to fill the rest of the top 30 with cheapies so upgrade some juniors that are coming of age and somehow find the cap for the signings. Maybe instead of Hayne 500k for 1 year maybe we can do a 2 year 400k I don’t know but Luke, Taupau and Maloney will be so enormous and those three are a fantastic leadership group, something we are lacking the most.
Gucci if get Maloney that be great just the person we need to lead us he can be captain to
Mack, Maloney I doubt could see out a full NRL season, Penrith are said to be shopping him around, and are to rest him for the finals if they get there.
From the team we have now, I would like to see Norman, Davis, Hoffman, Auva'a. M Jennings, King, Smith, Jack Morris, Vave, let go. M Jennings is still under contract but cannot see another club being interested in him.
Keep Pritchard, G Jennings, Marata, Akafolou, Trex as they are off contract, along with some of the Juniors.
From outside the club, Ethan Lowe would not be a bad pick up, Taupau but doubt Many will let him go, Vincent Leuluai. The young Centre Kelly from Manly would also be a handy addition.
Overall, the players above and those still on contract for next year along with some of the juniors will go well and a full off season for the likes of Mahoney, Salmon, Kaufusi, Stone, each of whom have already experienced NRL this year out of the lower grades add to them, Greg Leleisiuao, Dylan Brown, Stefano Utoikamanu & Steve Dresler They will be pressing for NRL selection from ISP.
Jack Morris isn't contracted to the Eels.
He is listed on the zero tackle and other off contracted players lists, why I named him.
The club website is a more authoritative source. He is not listed anywhere. The reason Zerotackle lists him is that he initially signed a two year extension in 2016 (for 2017-18) but we let him go at the end of last year.
Fair enough Pou, however when he was let go from his eels contract from my understanding he was still on the wenty books and the 2 year contract he had from end of 2016 still applied with him.
He certainly has not been sighted this year. Thing is even with the eels web site they still show Beau Scott as a player even though he has retired, yet Zero Tackle and a couple of other similar lists do not show on their lists and have not done so for some time now.
That's because Beau Scott is still in our top 30 salary cap. He only retired because he wouldn't be right to play before his contract expired, so why wait until the end of the year?
