Whether you loathe him or like him, Phil Gould's monologue at the start of each Origin gets your heart pumping and the adrenalin coursing. Below I will attempt to write my own below. This could be great or a flop, I have about as much idea as you do with what will be typed below.
"When the Blues walk out onto that field tonight they need to leave the past 7 series behind them. It's happened there's nothing that can be done about it. Origin football is all about passion and the will to win. If you want it hard enough you will achieve it. That's what the Blues need to do tonight.
Queensland are the more fancied opponents but the Blues need to show the belief they showed last series. They need to be hungry and I'm sure tonight, with the sea of Blue of behind them they will be hungry. This is the game where Mitchell Pearce needs to announce himself as an Origin footballer. He knows what it's about he's got to play some of his best football here tonight.
Paul Gallen, he'll go for as long as you tell him to and he'll be hurting from the series that he's lost. He's the Blues' leader, New South Wales, follow your leader. It doesn't matter who's the more skillful or who's the most talented, it's who is willing to give everything they've got for the next 80 minutes. If, at the end of tonight, the New South Wales players can look each other in the eye and know they couldn't have given anymore then they will be victorious.
There are no excuses anymore. Every single one of those players knows what Origin is about and they know what this game means. It's going to be a tough battle and it will come down to which team is willing to go the extra minute or that extra play. Hopefully it will be the Blues who are willing to go that extra step and it will be they who are draped in celebration at the end of the match."

It was interesting when Jennings scored.
Suddenly, the man with an opinion on everything had nothing to say.
I enjoyed the preview of SOO. Anyone got a link?
The guy is a mock. Before the game he was talking about QLD and Jonathan Thurston, they both had shockers. lol
Gould always states the obvious "Whoever wins the ruck and kicks well will win this game"
