  Anyone who thinks that loss was a ploy is kidding themselves. We played badly, Dragons got their form back, that's all there is to it.

  hmmmmmm, kinda had the same feelings though I do not, and never will believe that they threw it, but it kind of makes sense that he would test out just how much they rely on Hiny and co. If it was the elimination Hiny would have been there full stop.......so it does beg the question was this a ploy of DA's or a flop............only time will tell.

  I never suggested they threw it. If we had won on Friday night the Dragons would have been angrier and more determined to win next week and we would have been still riding the crest of a wave that needed to subside before the finals not during. Does it not seem odd that a rookie would be thrown in and have 3 tries scored against him by one of the leagues highest try scorers? I could have told them that would happen. There were other options. Inu or Reddy to the wing, Smith or Mateo to centre. That way you have a backline with experience. I just think DA wanted the boys to either have the loss before the finals or rise to dizzier heights than even he thought possible.

  All of a sudden, the team stopped passing the ball before the line, off loading, and tried to take them on up the middle. I would never say we tanked, but I reckon we learnt more about them than the other way 'round...

  And the likes of Mateo, Hayne, Mortimer and Fui all started throwing dumb passes. They weren't trying to bring about a miracle try. Now that we play the Dragqueens again they will think they have the wood on us. Another mystery for me was why did Fui only play about 15 mins in fiirst half then come back on early in the 2nd?
  
  My kids gave me a Parra shirt today so I reckon thats a good sign to. Would love it if they move the game to SFS.

  we underestimated them thats all there was to it and they came out and flogged the living fuck out of us and i expect them to do the same next week jk hopefully we come back firing

  We didn't lose because Hindmarsh was out, we lost because Grothe was out

  If DA's plan was to play the Dragons into form and lose any confidence and momentum we had then it worked.Fridays result wasnt crucial but the contest was,we needed to prove to ourselves that we could give them a real shake so that when Hindy and Guru come back the Dragons would have had real doubts about beating us.As it stands not only did we play them into form but we showed them that the game plan Bennett devised worked to a tee,kick to Burt,attack the right and be aggressive to limlit the offloads and your well on your way to winning.The scary thing is our right side defence has been our one constant problem since about 06 and fixing it before Sunday is doubtful to say the least, the only quick fix i can see is to move Smith there.The only real positives i can see are that Hindy and Guru are back and its a day game which suits our style of play.
