I just want to make a couple of points:1. The penalty in the 74th minute was the most appalling decision I have seen in 45 years of watching footy. I agree with others who claim it is motivated by the NRL wanting Melbourne to be successful.2. Melbourne were offside at the play the ball all game.3. Many of Smith's passes from dummy half were forward passes but were let go.4. Slater as man of the match is a joke. That is simply to ensure that Melbourne have players in the Australian team.It breaks my heart to say it but the NRL no longer belongs to the people. It is run in a manner that is based purely on generating $$$$.

Yes Michael you are on the money....If the nrl are fair dinkum...they should bring in the BEST OF THREE SERIES.....how many other leading codes play a series?...if it is about bums on seats & $$$$ .....lets see 82500 people times a possible 3.....seems fuckin good maths.....& would allow the first team defeated a chance 4 redemption.......

Agreed!!!

Its in the best interest of the NRL to have a successful team in Melbourne but its now more than ever blatantly obvious that this side and a great one at that that has been assembled, is no fluke, how they stay under the cap is also questionable? but the NRL need a team down there winning to get the public attention everyone loves winners!!!

My dad (a Bulldogs fan) has been harping on about a conspiracy for years that involves the NRL helping Brisbane and Melbourne in one way or another.

I refused to believe it until last night.

melbourne are paying players under the table , no way they are under the salary cap !!!!!!!!! When they are finially caught out,
their title should be stripped .

Also how about each grandfinal team select 1 ref each for GF , I am hesitant to bag refs but archer hates the eels and the eels fans its a blood fight us fans will never win , Do the maths and see how many games won and lost through archer , NRL SHOULD HOLD HEADS IN SHAME FOR KNOWING THIS , IT IS NO SECRET HE HATES EELS . And had he played truthfully the game would have been the eels to win .

What is even a bigger worry with this storm dynasty ....is that their u20s are a COMPLETE clone of the 1st grade side.....just so happen they got a very favorable refs call yesterday ....which won them the game against poor old tigers.......strange that......

It doesn't matter who the ref is if we're good enough. Hollywood Hartley was as crooked as they came and tried so hard to deny us. Eventually talent reigned over corruption.

Not sure about the best of 3 idea. Would you be keen on it if we won game 1?
